A few choice projects

Even more of me on the interweb

Just a quick note to let you know that I've just done another little interview.

This interview is for AvengeX, a website with an active community of web developers offering tutorials on a diverse range of subjects including PHP and MySQL.

So if you're not totally sick of me yet then jump over there and have a read.

Thanks Joe and the team at AvengeX for this opportunity!

Out with it lad

I am a freelance graphic designer / web developer with over 14 years experience within the industry. I was a founding director and designer at Styrofirm, one of New Zealand's leading creative agencies for 6 years, an experience which was great fun and broadened my expertise immensely.

If you're looking for a hard working, skilled and very down-to-Earth designer then look no further.

  1. Download my Curriculum Vitae (PDF)
  2. Contact me about a design project
  3. Read more about me

What's my vibe?

I dismissed Twitter early on because I couldn't see any benefit to reading what people, mostly strangers to me, are doing throughout the day. I'm not totally convinced it's not a waste of my time, but it is quite interesting, in a voyeuristic way. I think the clincher for me was being able to read what some of the top designers and bloggers are up to and getting a little bit of inside knowledge on what makes them successful.

OMG Posters! - too many great art prints and not enough wall-space. Curses! Also check out Tiny Showcase.

Super cute illustrations and stuff over at Nut and Bee - nice one Annette!

NetVibes - I have my To-Do lists, Flickr, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter feeds, Chinese lessons, delicious links, calendar and weather all tightly bundled as my start page and it all works so nicely!

Popurls is an irresistible daily fix.

BoingBoing is my favourite all-round blog with all that's weird, wonderful and messed up in the world.

Neil Swabb is one sick man, which makes his comics some of the best you'll ever find. Be sure to read Mr.Wiggles from #1.

It's not always easy being a freelancer but I've garnered plenty of useful tips from Freelance Switch. I'm particularly fond of this post on great business card designs :P
